South Florida born and raised creative.

For as long as she can remember, Skylar Hinds (Skye) always wanted to create the world she wanted to live in. Whether it was dance, writing, graphic design, acting— she loved to explore any and every creative outlet; her favorite being dancing/choreographing. Skye thrives in visual expression and telling stories through movement and styling— two elements very present throughout her creative processes. Being the only child of an aspiring fashion designer/seamstress, Skye loved being able to bounce ideas back and forth with her mother. She cites her cultural upbringing and her life experiences as some of her biggest inspirations when creating.

Skylar has been dancing since the tender age of two, beginning her training as a competitive dancer. She is trained in various styles ranging from classical ballet to hip hop styles— winning various accolades back in her studio days and now in her adult industry career.

Moving to Tampa for USF in 2014, she was able to meet various creatives and even found a studio that quickly became her second home. She devoted her time to being a member and creative director of VYB Dance Company while maintaining her training through taking and hosting classes throughout the Central Florida area.

Skye has been a featured performer in the Super Bowl LV Halftime Show with The Weeknd, directed and produced a feature film: “WIRED: A Dance Documentary”, taught various workshops and choreography classes, and received various competition accolades— including Best Theme, Best Costume, and Crowd Favorite Choreography awards.

As a creative, Skye has developed a passion for social media marketing and content creation as new forms of creative expression— especially as forms of exposure and digital portfolios.

As of July 2022, she has focused on freelance work (teaching open workshops/classes, working with local artists, etc.) while balancing a full-time job in the leasing industry. Her work ethic and passion for every project she takes on exemplifies her life experiences and opportunities she’s been blessed with.
